Joe Bauers (Wilson) is a regular American who is chosen to participate in a special government project and is put into a deep sleep. However, he is forgotten and when he wakes up 500 years later, he discovers that society has drastically changed. In this new society, filled with completely dumbed-down individuals, he is now considered the "smartest" person alive. He must navigate this strange world and try to make sense of it all.
